Round 2 (Regular Season): Alvark Tokyo defeat Kings

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in East Asia Super League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Taiwanese Kings in Taipei on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Japanese Alvark 107-89. Alvark Tokyo shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jayden Gardner (201-2000, college: Virginia, agency: MSG) replied with 29 points and 7 rebounds for Kings. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kings will play on the road against Xac Broncos in Ulaanbaatar and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of South Korean Knights against Japanese Tochigi Brex on Wednesday night. Visiting Knights were defeated by Tochigi Brex in a tough game in Tochigi 89-97. scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and DJ Newbill chipped in 28 points and 4 assists during the contest. American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Okinawa was also quite interesting. Filipino Bolts played at the court of Japanese Golden Kings. Golden Kings managed to secure a 9-point victory 81-72 on Wednesday. Alex Kirk notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson did not help to save the game for Meralco Bolts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Golden Kings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bolts will play against Pilots in Taoyuan and hope to win that game.

The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Isaac Fotu of Tochigi Brex.

Cuban-Puerto Rican center Ismael Romero (205-1991) added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
